My Awesome Cat

I am a proud pawrent of Miyu the Miao, a PhD student in Meowology at the University of Catago. She specializes in felinist theory, cat-hooman relation, and critical pet studies. As an experienced pawticipant observer, she has conducted several ethnographic projects such as the home life of shoes and the daily dental cleaning ritual of hoomans. Currently, she is developing a theoretical framework called Cat Awesomeness Theory (a.k.a. CAT).

My Colorful Hair

Before I started graduate school, my mom warned me not to dye my hair because she assumed my advisor wouldn’t be happy with it (my advisor had pink hair at the time). A few years later, I learned one of our department’s admins was trying to memorize my name by associating the “ch” in “Yuchen” with “changing hair color.”

My Lowest Grade

In one of my middle school Chinese dictation tests, I got a score of something like -25 points. Yes, it was negative. I forgot the exact number but the score was below zero.
